With the recent publication of a motor insurance survey by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission there has been a lot of talk in the media about the wide range of prices that are available if you take the time to shop around for car insurance online. As Fergal O’Leary, Director of Communications and Consumer Help at the Commission is quoted as saying; “There is a great deal of variation in this market, so whatever the consumer’s individual circumstances, there’s a very good chance that if they do get a couple of quotes, they can save a significant amount of money on motor car insurance – especially given that it is very easy to get quotes quickly.”
The commission surveyed some of the market for 18 different motor car insurance quotes for a range of different customer types, with a variety of cars, occupations, no claims bonus amounts etc.
Unfortunately, the Commission opted not to check with a Broker when making this market survey on motor insurance and that’s disappointing. Making one call to Quoteme.ie or spending less than 5 minutes at www.quoteme.ie would have given up to 15 additional quotes in a matter of minutes as we check all our Insurance providers in one go. If they had included quotes from us we’d have been happy to help customers save even more money as they shopped for motor insurance. For example Profile 1 in the survey is listed at a 20 year old student living in Mayo with Zero no claims bonus a full license gained in the last year. The cheapest Third Party Fire and Theft quote that the Commission found through its 8 calls was €2003. With one phone call or internet quote through us we’d have been able to quote almost €270 cheaper at €1736.28.
It pays to shop around, we agree. When it’s your time to check the market for motor car insurance, make sure you save yourself both time and money by comparing car insurance coverage and benefits or contact us – with up to 15 quotes in one go it makes sense to give us a call on 0818 22 44 33 or click here now to get an immediate quote.
